Entire opposition will be in jail if Modi wins: Kejriwal post bail
The court of First Additional District and Sessions Judge Chaibasa on Saturday sentenced 26-year-old Vishal Padeya to 25 years of rigorous imprisonment after finding him guilty in a case of raping a minor.
Apart from the rigorous imprisonment, the court, which also hears cases under the POCSO Act, awarded a fine of Rs 25,000 to the convict.
A case was registered at Chaibasa Mufassil thana in 2021 following an FIR filed by the parents of the minor girl.
The victim, who used to live in the convict's neighbourhood in the Chaibasa Mufassil thana area, had come to watch a TV serial at Vishal's house. Since no one else was in the house at that time, Vishal raped the minor in his house. Shortly after returning home, the victim informed her parents about the incident, who lodged an FIR against Vishal.
A police investigation and the victim's medical examination report confirmed the allegations of rape before the accused was taken into custody.
